If, like me, you have reported people for parking their cars across pavements and other public footpaths, you are probably dismayed, and maybe angry, that the police do not act on your call. Given cuts to police budgets and the reduction in police numbers, it is understandable that the police give illegally parked cars a very low priority. However, it just leads to some becoming blasé about breaking the law. The correlation with drivers who drive dangerously would probably be very revealing!
Personally, I am cheesed off with having to walk in the road because of these inconsiderate, selfish idiots, so I have decided to set up this website to try to address the issue. Feel free to post your photos and videos of illegally parked cars.
I suggest when you are filming or taking your photos that you protect your identity by being surreptitious. It's quite easy to look as if you are using your mobile phone as a phone, rather than as a camera, by using the filming mode. And don't take the photo from your front door or driveway, as that will give your ID away. Of course, when uploading your photo to the site, it's best to do so as an anonymous person.
Remember don't put yourself at risk from reprisals and please do not use the site for malicious purposes. It is certainly not my intention that people use this site for illegal reasons, or for running vendettas. If there is any suspicion of this I will remove postings immediately.
Someone parking on the road in front of your house, unless you have specific legal authority, is not against the law. If they are parked across your drive then, as long as the drive way is a legally recognised access point to your property, feel free to report them.
